Report: 20 Cowboys missed curfew on Friday night
Earlier this year, Jets quarterback Geno Smith missed a team meeting before a game with the Chargers and blamed his absence on confusion about the difference in time zones between San Diego and New Jersey.
More than a third of the Cowboys team may have been reaching for the same excuse in London this weekend.
According to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, 20 players on the Cowboys missed their curfew on Friday night. As you’d imagine, that left coaches on the team frustrated and Rapoport adds that some of the team’s veterans were also upset by their teammates’ inability to adhere to team rules. There’s no word on any punishments, although it’s fair to say that the Cowboys won’t be sitting down that many players against the Jaguars on Sunday.
Coach Jason Garrett will surely be asked about the report after the game and those questions about the impact of the reported lateness will be a lot more aggressive should the Cowboys lose for a third straight week.
