Garrett uses '13 Saints loss as teaching tool

Orlando Scandrick said the Dallas Cowboys were embarrassed when they lost to the New Orleans Saints last season. Jason Witten said he couldn't remember a game in which he felt as humbled.

As expected, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett preferred to stay away from the emotions of what happened to the Cowboys last November inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. He won't use it as motivation this week.

"I think it's probably more of a teaching tool," Garrett said. "You watch the tape and you try to evaluate just like you would any other previous experience you would have with a team. If you can get anything from it, from a scheme standpoint or a personnel standpoint, you certainly try to use that. It was not a good game for us. Their team is different. Our team is different. We’re focused on this game on Sunday."
