Ezekiel Elliott wins court ruling, will play this Sunday

The Dallas Cowboys will have their star running back, Ezekiel Elliott, available for this Sunday’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs. Zeke and the NFLPA have been granted an administrative stay of the ruling that put the suspension back into effect, thus clearing the way for hims to play this Sunday.

Basically, the suspension is off until a panel of three judges can hear the NFLPA argue for Zeke to get a preliminary injunction, something that was not granted in the ruling earlier this week.

The ruling, made by Judge Susan Carney, puts the stay in place pending the next opportunity for a “motions panel” consisting of three judges to consider the issue.

The granting of the stay suggests that Judge Carney regards the harm Elliott would suffer from missing the game as indeed “irreparable,” which makes it more likely that the Second Circuit will overturn the denial of a preliminary injunction while the case works its way through the normal steps and stages of the court system.
