Tony Romo says his back is fine after taking hard shot

When Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner drilled Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, many people were holding their breath.

But after taking a moment to catch his, Romo said he was fine.

Romo had to be tended to by trainers and go to the sidelines after the hard shot, but was able to stay in and lead his team to an impressive road victory.

“I think my rib cartilage may have something to say about it, but we’ll see,” Romo said, via Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I’ll go through all of this stuff [Monday]. Obviously the soreness after the game and that’s part of it. That’s fine.”

Romo also rolled his ankle at one point, but after all the panic about his recovery from back surgery, that barely registers.

“Got to go through all of the junk [Monday] and figure that out,” Romo said. “It has nothing to do with the back, though. All of this is gravy.”

He’s not practicing on Wednesdays anymore anyway, so an extra day of rest ought to serve him well this week, and the win won’t hurt either.
