Cowboys claim OG Hawkins, cut OT Wetzel
The Dallas Cowboys claimed guard Donald Hawkins off waivers from the Cleveland Browns.
Dallas released offensive tackle John Wetzel to make room for Hawkins. Wetzel can be placed on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
Hawkins, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound undrafted rookie out of Texas, played three preseason games with the Philadelphia Eagles before being released. He was claimed off waivers by the Browns last week before being released again Saturday.
