Possibly More Work For Sean Lee

Sean Lee has every intention of playing this Sunday at Seattle, and the veteran linebacker/defensive captain appeared ready to do a little more work in Thursday’s practice after working on the side Wednesday.
Lee (hamstring tightness) started on the resistance cords during the open portion Thursday. Before practice, head coach Jason Garrett said he was hopeful Lee could increase his reps.
“We will see how he is doing at the outset of practice and give him the work that he needs as we go,” Garrett said.
After last Sunday’s win over the Giants, Lee said he was dealing with cramping more than anything and said the issue wouldn’t keep him out of the Cowboys’ upcoming road game against the Seahawks. He did come back in for the Giants’ second onside kick at the end of the game.
There’s no question the Cowboys want to be deliberate with Lee in practice given his history with hamstring issues.
“I think the biggest thing with all of our players and particularly someone like Sean is to listen to your body,” Garrett said. “I thought he did a good job of that the other day in the game. He had some tightness in his hamstring and made everybody aware of it. You’ve got to be careful about being dumb tough when you’re dealing with soft tissue injuries.
“We’re fortunate that we had a couple of guys we could put in there and feel like we can continue to maintain a high level of performance on defense and hopefully get him healthy. “
Defensive tackle Maliek Collins is still dealing with the sprained knee he suffered against the Giants, and Garrett said he was hopeful Collins could get back into practice at some point this week. Center Travis Frederick (illness) remains out of practice.
