Dallas Cowboys rule out two versus Redskins

The Dallas Cowboys final injury report has been released. Let’s see who’s in, who’s out and who is questionable for the upcoming Week 13 game versus the Washington Redskins.

In a battle of two 5-6 NFC East teams, the Dallas Cowboys will welcome their divisional rivals, the Washington Redskins, to AT&T Stadium for a Thursday night game in Arlington, Texas. Both long-time NFL foes are fighting for their playoff lives in this primetime matchup. And both will have to do so without some of their top players being available.
Serving his fourth missed contest in a six game suspension for the Cowboys is All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliott. Without the fourth overall selection from the 2016 NFL Draft, America’s Team has lost three straight. Once again, Dallas will attempt to beat the Redskins with their former starter, running back Alfred Morris, with the Star on his helmet. The two-time Pro Bowler and bruiser back Rod Smith will be featured in the Cowboys backfield in place of Zeke.
On Wednesday, Dallas’ final injury report revealed two more Cowboys who will not be joining their teammates when the game kicks off tomorrow night. One of those players being two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Sean Lee, who will miss what is essentially his third straight contest due to a lingering hamstring injury. Lee’s absence also coincides with Dallas’ losing streak.
To add insult to Lee’s literal injury is that the other player already ruled out for Thursday night’s battle is veteran linebacker Justin Durant. That due to a concussion. This leaves the Cowboys without two players along their linebacker corps. This will likely force the team to start second-year phenom Jaylon Smith, who has played well with limited snaps. But Smith also struggled earlier this season when he was pressed into too much action due to injury.
Smith will likely join Anthony Hitchens on the Cowboys front seven as starters. Back-ups Damien WilsonKyle Wilber and Justin March-Lillard should all play important roles as well. Especially considering the fact Hitchens is also listed as questionable for the Redskins matchup due to a groin injury.
Also listed on the Cowboy’s final injury report as questionable are right tackle La’el Collins (back), defensive tackle Maliek Collins (foot), guard Zack Martin (concussion), left tackle Tyron Smith (back/groin) and wide receiver Ryan Switzer (ankle).
On the Washington Redskins side of the ball, four players have been designated as “out” for Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, and seven more were labeled as questionable. Two of the bigger names who will miss the matchup for Washington are former Cowboys defensive end Terrell McClain (toe) and tight end Jordan Reed (hamstring).
