Romo fully participates in Monday practice
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is glad that it’s a normal week. But it’s still not really a normal week, since the Cowboys play for the second straight Thursday, against the Bears at Soldier Field.
Still, the Cowboys have a full week between games. Which means that Romo fully participated in practice on Monday, because Monday is the equivalent of Thursday for games played on Sunday.
Last week, Romo played on Sunday and then on Thursday even though he hadn’t practiced all week on a Wednesday. The shortened time frame potentially showed up in multiple failures by Romo to drive the ball.
Other injured Cowboys who fully participated in practice on Monday include defensive end Tyrone Crawford (knee), tackle Doug Free (foot), defensive tackle Nick Hayden (shoulder), linebacker Rolando McClain (knee), defensive tackle Josh Price-Brent (groin), tackle Tyron Smith (illness), and receiver Terrance Williams (finger).
Defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence (chest) and George Selvie (thumb) participated on a limited basis. Safety Jeff Heath (thumb), cornerback Tyler Patmon (knee, ankle), and linebacker Dekoda Watson (hamstring) did not practice.
Last year, the Cowboys were blasted in prime time by the Bears and former backup quarterback Josh McCown. This year, a loss at Chicago would further grease the skids toward another 8-8 finish.
