Cowboys' Tyrone Crawford out with knee injury

Observed and heard in the locker room after the Dallas Cowboys' 28-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at AT&T Stadium.

Defensive starters hurt: While Tony Romo's back injury dominated the postgame talk, the Cowboys lost defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford and middle linebacker Rolando McClain to knee injuries in the fourth quarter. They will receive more examination Monday before the team’s flight to London. Jerry Jones said Crawford may have suffered a sprain of his medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Jones was not as concerned about McClain, but the Cowboys are thin at linebacker after losing Justin Durant for the season with a torn biceps.

One to forget: Brandon Weeden had much higher hopes for his first start with the Cowboys. He did not envision an 18-of-33, 183-yard effort with one touchdown and two picks. He was unable to get in rhythm with Dez Bryant or Terrance Williams for most of the game.

“You have got to play better,” Weeden said. “Regardless of circumstances, you have to go out there and play better. You can’t turn the ball over, and that is on me. I was inconsistent. Some good at times, some not good enough at times.”

Off to London: The Cowboys will leave for London on Monday for their next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. Coming off two straight losses, the mood is not a good one.

“This is all business,” defensive end Jeremy Mincey said. “I mean, we just lost two games in a row. It’s got to be business. It’s got to be business. We got to get our focus back and get our oomph back, get our edge back. Can’t let the bad creep in, you know. That’s what this trip is all about: not allowing the bad to creep in.”
