Two WRs Among Trio Of Players Working Out Monday

The Cowboys worked out three free agents Monday afternoon, as they begin preparation for their Week 2 roadtrip to Tennessee.

The club brought in two wide receivers, second-year player Reggie Dunn and third-year veteran Devon Wylie. They also worked out safety Keelan Johnson, a fellow second-year player.

Wylie was a fourth round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012 after he tallied 98 receptions for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns for Fresno State. He played in six games as a rookie, but he was among the Chiefs’ final roster cuts prior to the 2013 season. He has spent time with Arizona, Tennessee and San Francisco since then. The 49ers waived him ahead of the 2014 season.

Dunn has spent time with six different clubs since he went undrafted out of Utah in 2013. He set NCAA records for returns with the Utes, as he notched a record four kickoff returns for

touchdowns in 2012 and five for his career. The Cardinals released him at the tail end of the 2014 preseason.

Johnson spent most of 2013 on Philadelphia’s practice squad after he went undrafted out of Arizona State. The Eagles added him to their active roster in December of last season, and they ultimately released him during their final cuts last weekend.

The likely guess is that any of the three would sign as practice squad players, should the Cowboys opt to sign them. It’s worth noting, however, that the active roster currently features just eight defensive backs.
