Tony Romo back to practice, Rolando McClain not

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out of Wednesday’s session just as he did last week to work in the weight room.

The quarterback of the defense, linebacker Rolando McClain, missed his fifth straight practice with a groin injury. Coach Jason Garrett said the hope is McClain would be able to do some on-field work today but he was not on the field during the portion of practice open to the media. Garrett said McClain participated in the morning walk-through.

Defensive tackles Henry Melton (hamstring) and Terrell McClain (concussion) missed their second straight practices. Garrett said he hoped Melton could do some on-field work as well.

Defensive tackle Davon Coleman (knee/calf) returned to practice for the first time in more than a week.

On Wednesday the Cowboys had to use defensive ends, including Tyrone Crawford, at defensive tackle with Melton, McClain and Coleman missing practice.
