Cowboys' Justin Durant: Leg feels fine

Newly-minted Dallas Cowboys' defensive captain Justin Durant was unable to finish Sunday's 28-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers because of a groin injury.

Durant, starting his first game at weak-side linebacker for the Cowboys left AT&T Stadium in a pair of gym shorts with an ice pack around his leg. He said he was fine and was unsure if he would need an MRI on Monday.

Durant, who missed one game last season with a groin injury, finished tied for the team lead with Rolando McClain with eight tackles. He dropped a sure interception in the third quarter unable to come up with a Colin Kaepernick pass that floated down the middle of the field as he was falling to the ground.

With Durant out, McClain remained on the field for all three downs. Durant took over as the middle linebacker in the nickel defense.

Safety C.J. Spillman suffered a groin injury in the second half and did not return.

"We don't think they're serious, but we'll evaluate them again (Monday morning)," coach Jason Garrett said.
