Behind Enemy Lines; Tavon Austin misses practice Wednesday, likely on sidelines for Week 3
St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin (knee) did not practice with the team on Wednesday and he's unlikely to play in the team's Week 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Jim Thomas. Austin has just three catches for 34 yards this season.
Austin had a lackluster preseason. With Sam Bradford (torn ACL) done for the season and Shaun Hill (thigh) in recovery mode, the Rams' offense lies on the shoulders of quarterback Austin Davis. Given Austin has yet to really break out and the Rams are all over the place on offense, his future outlook doesn't look bright.
His knee injury in Week 2 involved an awkward twisting of his joints, so it's unlikely he'll play against the Cowboys. It's been diagnosed as an MCL sprain, which is usually a multi-week injury.
