Dallas with 6 total 7th round picks; NFL gives out 32 compensatory picks for 2014 NFL Draft

The NFL awarded 13 clubs a total of 32 compensatory picks for the 2014 NFL Draft on Monday, the league announced.

Compensatory picks are awarded based on free agents a team lost (and offset by free agents gained by that team) in the previous offseason.

The Steelers (third round, No. 97 overall), Packers (third, 98), Ravens (third, 99) and 49ers (third, 100) all received a single third-round compensatory pick, the highest pick available.

The Lions (133rd and 136th overall) and Ravens (134th and 138th overall) each received two fourth-round compensatory picks, while the Texans, Jets, Falcons and Patriots each received a single fourth-round compensatory pick.

The Steelers, Giants, Ravens and Packers each received a single fifth-round compensatory pick.

The Jets received three sixth-round compensatory picks, while the Texans, Bengals, Rams and Steelers each received a single sixth-round compensatory pick.

The Texans will make the final selection of the 2014 NFL Draft (compensatory picks are not eligible to be traded) having received the 256th overall pick as their single seventh-round compensatory pick.

The Cowboys received three seventh-round compensatory picks, while the Rams and Falcons received a pair of them. The Bengals also received a single additional seventh-round pick.

With a total of four compensatory picks (the max) in 2014, the Ravens retained the NFL lead in compensatory picks since their inception in 1994 with a total of 41.

The Packers and Cowboys are tied for second most with 33 total.
