Morris Claiborne: the Cowboys won't be running a true cover 2 defense

Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne was asked by the Dallas Morning News how he thinks they’ll adjust to the new cover 2 defense that Monte Kiffin is installing.
I think it’s going to be good. It’s not quite what everybody thinks it is – a true Cover 2. We mix in a lot of different things and we play a lot of man-to-man as well, so it’s not what everybody thinks it is [where] we’re just going to be sitting back playing Cover 2 the whole game. So I think it’s going to fit in with the personnel that we have with the team and the guys we have on the team. I think it’s going to work out.
The Cowboys have to be wise when it comes to how they develop their defense under Kiffin.  The players on their current roster weren’t drafted for this type of scheme, so they will need to tweak it to fit the talent they have.
