…and the last player the Dallas Cowboys took at number 18 was Bobby Carpenter.

Those are the last seven players taken at 18. All and all not a bad bunch last years “rookie” Melvin Ingram is still up in the air being this was his first season, he goes from a defensive tackle to a linebacker and a linebacker in a 3-4 defense and he’s playing for the San Diego Chargers.

Corey Liuget Also playing for the San Diego Chargers may be a unknown but he amassed 7 sacks and over 50 tackles is nothing to sneeze at from a 2^nd year player.

Maurkice Pouncey is already a pro bowler with the Pittsburgh Steelers, nuff said.

Ayers is probably the lone “unproven” of the bunch not starting in the Broncos locker-room.

I don’t think there anything, ANYONE has any more to say about Waka Flacca Flacco. While Leon Hall is a part of one of the best CB units in the league being an All Pro with the Bengals.

So it looks like out of the last seven years the only people that have goofed with the 18^th pick are the Denver Broncos and the Dallas Cowboys. Bobby Carpenter and Robet Ayers, While Bobby Carpenter is barley in the league after failing in Detroit (although he is with the Patriots now) Ayers is just a third year player (rather coming off his third year) and third year players usually don’t get put on the chopping block, unless your Jamarcus Russell, and there is our 2013 Jamarcus Russell draft joke.

With that said when I started to write this article. I felt all hope was lost I thought I’d find a bunch of college all pro and NFL no shows. There players listed above have made me think about things. Normally I hate it when we get this middle of the draft board picks. This is the time of year where I wished we’d gone 4-12 instead of 8-8. However in this draft there are likely to be more teams with top 10 picks that draft due to need instead of value and waste a draft. If we blow an 18^th pick who cares.
